8 All-American Desserts For The Fourth
It's Like A Fireworks Display On Your Dessert Menu!
July 1, 2016
The only thing more American than an Alexander Hamilton hip-hop musical is this list of 8 delicious desserts. Not everybody wants tickets to see "Hamilton," but everybody wants to see one of these American favorites this 4th of July weekend. Share pictures of your favorite American desserts on our Facebook page or on Instagram with #auifinefoods. And don't forget to show your competitive American spirit by entering our U.S. Pastry Cup! Details and official rules can be found here!
1. Poached Apples With Textures Of Caramel
What's more American than apple pie? How about a dynamic and innovative way to enjoy the flavors of apple pie as a plated dessert with a modern twist.
2. Mini Lemon CakesOmbre
Like a homemade lemonade stand run by the neighborhood kids, these cakes are irresistibly cute with a fresh lemon flavor.
3. Peanut Butter Tartlets Cheesecake
Peanut butter meets cheesecake meets chocolate for an explosion of decadent American flavors that would make a Frenchman fight for American freedom. (Shout out to America's favorite fighting Frenchman, Lafayette!)
4. Creamsicle Pralines
Remember the sweet sweet taste of a creamsicle on a hot summer day when you were a kid? Unfortunately, the memory doesn't hold up to adult taste buds. Take your creamy orange vanilla experience to the next level with these sophisticated bonbons.
5. S'More Bars
Are you never satisfied? Do you find yourself always wanting...s'more? Indulge in these chocolatey and not-too-sweet marshmallow bars. You can even light your 4th of July sparklers with the flame from your blow torch.
6. Old Fashioned Cake Donuts
What were the founding fathers thinking when they wrote our brilliant yet contradictory Constitution? No one else was in the room where it happened, so let's just assume they were thinking, "Let's wrap this up and go get donuts." We bet Martha Washington made incredible old fashioned cake donuts.
7. Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars
How can you say "no" to this quintessential American combo? No man is strong enough to resist the siren song of pb&j.
8. Triple Chocolate Banana Brownie Tart
Brownies are America's gift to the pastry world, and the addition of bananas and an extra dose of chocolate takes this tart to a whole new level of awesome. Don't throw away your shot to impress guests with this classic crowd pleaser.
