Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Rep will be assigned to grow customer base by selling AUI products and services, using Telemarketing model. The Inside Sales Rep will serve as an AUI Resource to our clients and industry. The Inside Sales Rep will build expert knowledge of the product assortment, brands and all services offered by AUI. The Inside Sales Rep will assist call center queue coverage.

Job Description

  • Develop sales and account management strategies per customer and product groupings. Develop efficient call schedules to cover the account base. Build name recognition for Company and self.
  • Reach or exceed all sales goals as directed by Sales Management. Reactivate inactive customers in multiple geographic areas and sales regions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned accounts. Maintain existing business and help with customer service troubleshooting and resolution. Cooperate with Gastro reps to manage all transactions within assigned account base. Implement sales and account management strategies and tactics as directed by Sales Management.

Qualifications

  • Culinary experience or College Degree in business, marketing/sales, or other; or food degree or equivalent; or one year sales experience (or 1 plus years foodservice experience) preferred.
  • Baseline Knowledge & Skills: Experience in and knowledge of food service or hospitality industry, relationship-based sales, culinary experience, customer service.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude.
  • General computer skills (Excel, Word).

Distribution Center Associate  - Gaithersburg, Maryland

AUI is currently seeking a hands on Distribution Center Associate to help assist with all aspects of the warehouse day-to-day operations of the facility store, and inventory product. Maintains all aspects of the Distribution Center as a part of a team led by the Distribution Center Manager (DCM).

Job Description

  • Receive and place all domestic and imported products into inventory within 24 hours of physical receipt. Report all discrepancies to the DCM as appropriate.
  • Receive and Process all Customer Returns within 48 hours and oversee re-stocking and or disposition.
  • Ensure all stock is properly stored (by FIFO) and protected. Re-barcode as necessary
  • Pick, Pack and Ship all orders assigned, ensuring proper packing/labeling instructions are followed and appropriate packaging supplies.
  • Utilization of Warehouse Management (WMS) and Shipping Systems.
  • Ship via FEDEX and UPS Manifesting Systems, as well as Delivery Contractors and Common Carriers.
  •  Prepare Packing Supplies each day in preparation for the next day's activities.
  • Deliver "walk-in" orders to customers.
  • Maintain clean, safe and hygienic environment both within the warehousing area, as well as dock areas and perimeter of building.
  • Follow cleaning standards at all times.
  • Report all facility infrastructure issues to DCM or Assistant in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Customer Service requests for product or services (order entry, stock availability, item locations)
  • Professional attitude and appearance is mandatory.
  • Operation of warehouse Material Handling equipment a plus (manual and motorized pallet jacks, etc.)
  • All other duties as may be assigned by the DCM or Assistant

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of Warehousing/Shipping experience, Inventory Control, Organization Skills, Coordination, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Data Entry Skills (Must not be intimidated by computers), Safe work ethic, Fast Learner.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Marketing Associate

Develops and distributes marketing and sales communication material. Creates, proofreads and posts internal and external written communications towards media, social media, blogs, customers, and sales representatives. Assists in production of advertising, marketing brochures, sales kits, and other promotional material. Actively interviews, researches and looks for content of marketing value. This might include taking pictures of interesting happenings, interview guest passing by at the AUI headquarters, shows, demos, etc. Produces advertising, marketing brochures, sales kits, and other promotional material. Supports the Director of Marketing in the task of promoting the Company, products, services, events, people, and any other activities. Maintains knowledge about all products promoted, keeps up to date on all pertinent information needed to act as an AUI Resource and has a good working knowledge of the Company’s systems and policies. Stays within approved budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Updates and builds web pages, social media sites and online store
  • Creates internal/monthly newsletters
  • Pulls and creates text, video, etc for social media, posts content and analyzes traffic
  • Updates press kit and any marketing material. Writes/proofs all internal and external marketing copy and correspondence. Develops advertisement and ad copy
  • Creates brand support material, such as corporate, brand, product, service statements. Performs corporate design
  • Updates Company’s voicemail system’s message on hold as needed
  • Works on catalog: develops photo-shoot concepts, purchases necessary props, supervises photo-shoots, proofreads, creates and edits copy, works with third party (designer, photographer, printer) on catalog development
  • Is responsible for the material in the marketing room and for the showcase display in the customer service area
  • Answers leads and maintains the lead database via phone, web page and distributes to the sales force
  • Takes pictures, creates flyers, arranges for shipment to the reps
  • Selects products and creates promotional pieces for seasonal promotions
  • Assists with logo and label development and creates labels
  • Assists with product launches

Qualifications and Skills

Education / years & type of experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, English, Communications or related field with at least 2 year of work experience writing copy, editorials, or other articles plus 2 year of experience in similar position; Journalism and/or creative writing experience is important. Marketing/sales experience is helpful, especially within the food industry experience.

Baseline Knowledge & Skills: Understanding culinary terminology is a must in order to create content read by professional chefs and pastry chefs; ability to understand their passion, interests, and topics of discussion; must be comfortable speaking with chefs. Keyword is DEPTH! Must be technology-savvy, especially with respect to web page, e-newsletters, social media. Excellent communication skills Excellent editorial skills; Organizational skills;
